John Bradshaw on the training and behaviour of dogs
"Today, by contrast, many pet dogs live in circumscribed, urban environments and are expected to be simultaneously better behaved than the average human child and as self-reliant as adults." - Bradshaw, excerpt from "Dog Sense"
That looks like a great book, and will actually dovetail nicely with this one, which I'm reading right now - Inside of a Dog, by Alexandra Horowitz:

I'm enjoying reading her take on the conventional wisdom about animal behaviour. Thanks for the pointer to Bradshaw. Uh, no pun intended.
