From the owners of Mickey, now named Franklin Morgan Fraser:
Frank is doing really well. He has definitely never known a home or a soft bed - it took a few days before he would lay on anything soft - but now he loves his beds.
From day one he did not go to the bathroom in his warm cozy crate -he figured out that it is for sleeping and quiet time not for the bathroom. :)
He finds the outside world very scary - we are taking baby steps with walking on the lease and treats are a good motivator! - He is not as nervous to put his coat on - everyday gets better.
He is on a good schedule and is always going to the bathroom on the patio. (just like a puppy we take him out after he wakes up, or gets out of his crate or every few hours so that he does not go in the house).
Frank is still not sure about his mommies - though he is beginning to trust us more. We love him so much.
His new vet says he is in great health and we expect a long and happy life with him.
I'll send more updates when he goes to school - we are looking forward to more time on leash and sunny spring days that Frank will be excited to play and go outside on long walks.
Thanks so much for all you do and for rescuing Frank.
I love the updates, thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love people who take the time to let a special dog settle in and learn to be a dog. They're special in themselves. Thanks for the update.
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to know Frank found understanding people to help him gently over his puppy mill past. The very best to him, and them!
